Fast Facts About Transferring to Adelphi

Will I get credit for the courses I’ve already taken?
Yes! Adelphi accepts all comparable courses completed in the past 10 years, including ones taken online. We’ll even consider courses taken more than 10 years ago. Your credits must be from a regionally accredited junior or senior college or an institution accredited by the New York State Board of Regents, though, and you must have received a grade of at least C–.

How many credits can I transfer?
Probably all the ones you’ve earned. We’ll accept up to 64 credits if you’re transferring from a junior or community college and 90 if you’ve been attending a four-year college. You will have to complete the last 30 credits of course work for your degree at Adelphi.

Will I have to take basic classes to meet Adelphi’s general education requirements?
Nope, not as long as you’re transferring with an A.A., A.S., B.A. or B.S. from an accredited college or institution.

Is there a way to quickly find out how many credits I might bring with me?
There is. Check out the Transfer Evaluation System (TES), an online tool that will show you how your courses match up with those at Adelphi. TES is easy to use, and you’ll find it at admissions.adelphi.edu/transfer-credits.

I have more questions. Can I talk with someone?
Absolutely. Our transfer counselors are always happy to meet with you, even if you haven’t started the application process. Come by. We’ll evaluate your transcript on the spot and answer all your questions.
