Welcome to Adelphi University! We are so excited for you to join the Panther community. Throughout the summer, you will have the opportunity to learn all about the Adelphi student experience through virtual New Student Orientation. Virtual Orientation will include an on-demand experience as well as live sessions hosted by academic departments, special programs, campus resources, and student leaders.
You’ve spent the summer getting to know Adelphi through New Student Orientation - now it’s time to kick off your Adelphi journey as a new Panther! Over the course of Welcome Weekend, you’ll be officially welcomed through our Matriculation Ceremony, get a chance to meet fellow new students, and compete to win awesome prizes for you and your PAL group. Check out the Welcome Weekend page to learn all about the experience and access the Zoom information for each event.
Beginning in mid-July, incoming new students will be emailed information about how to access our on-demand Orientation experience. These modules will provide a detailed overview of important information related to academics, support services, student life, campus safety, and financial aid. New students will be able to work through this piece of Orientation on their own schedule.
Beginning the week of July 6th, new students will be able to tune in to live virtual sessions hosted by special programs, academic departments, campus resources, and student leaders. These sessions will give incoming students a chance to connect with faculty, staff, and peers as they learn more about the academic and co-curricular Adelphi experience.
In August, international students are invited to tune into sessions that will help ease their transition to Adelphi and will provide an opportunity to further connect with peers, staff and faculty.
Congratulations! Your student has decided to join the Panther Family. That means we are happy to welcome you to the family as well! We are thrilled for your student to begin their Adelphi journey!
For parents and families, there will be two virtual panels held this summer which will feature representatives from Adelphi offices and resources who will provide an overview of services available to your student and answer questions you may have.
Additionally, throughout the summer we will be sending out Parent and Family Spotlight emails, with information about campus life, health and wellbeing support services, student safety, academics, and career development.

Advisement for undergraduates is a continuous process that begins with first-year registration and culminates in graduation. It challenges and supports students as they examine, determine, and achieve their educational goals, and encourages students to take ownership of their intellectual journey.
Adelphi undergraduates have many sources for academic advice—faculty advisers, academic advisers in the Offices of the Deans of their School- or College, and the Office of Academic Services and Retention.
To contact the Office of Academic Services and Retention, call 516.877.3150 or email oasr@adelphi.edu.
Upon signing up, incoming first-year commuters are paired with a Commuter Assistant who will serve as a mentor and as a resource for them. Each Commuter Assistant will keep in contact with their commuting new student throughout the entire first year and help them navigate Adelphi University and get them involved on campus.
To sign up for a Commuter Assistant, please complete this form. The program is free. If you have any questions or require additional assistance, please contact commuter@adelphi.edu.

The Office of Residential Life and Housing creates an integrated academic and co-curricular educational environment for our residents by providing programs, services and facilities that contribute to the intellectual, social and cultural development of students.
We house 1,300 students in seven clean and safe residence halls. Each residence hall is supervised by a full-time, professional residence hall director (RHD) who is committed professionally and personally to the concept of the residence hall as a center of learning. The RHD lives and works in the hall throughout the year and supervises a staff of trained graduate and undergraduate resident assistants (RAs).
The First Year Community Action Program (FCAP) gives incoming students the opportunity to make connections with community partners, current Adelphi students and help build your resumes. Students will participate in virtual volunteer programs, prior to the start of classes, that will benefit the local community.
